Pen-y-bryn Lodge — Just down the Road

The historic Pen-y-bryn Lodge is a magnificent sprawling Victorian mansion in the charming historic port town of Oamaru. The 1889 estate offers luxury accommodations where guests will enjoy the elegance of a stately home steeped in the traditions of the real New Zealand.

All five en suite rooms are individually decorated and have their own charms. The Lodge is filled with antiques and furnishings that date back to the original owners, who used a four-year trip to Europe during the construction of the house to source fittings and artworks to display in their new home. The boutique lodge can offer premium accommodations for up to 13 guests at a time.

Guests can enjoy the splendid living areas, the historic billiards table, or wander through the estate’s manicured gardens. The Lodge offers guests a chance to relive a bygone age of refined elegance while still enjoying the modern amenities of today.

As proud members of both the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs & the Slow Food Movement, Pen-y-bryn take the preparation and presentation of their meals very seriously, by serving seasonal and healthful food as much as possible. Priding themselves on using local and sustainable produce that combines the riches of New Zealand ingredients with classic preparations for a gourmet treat!
